Notice: Beware of Scams, with the rise of AI tools, scams and fraud in the pet industry have increased dramatically. To protect yourself, do NOT send money based solely on emails with pictures. Instead, insist on verifying the product—whether a pet or related item—via a video call or in-person meeting. This simple step often exposes scammers. Typically, they will either stop communicating entirely or significantly lower their deposit demands. If you notice this behavior, it’s a clear sign you’re being scammed.
To date, we have not seen reports of scammers revealing their faces or showing pets on video, making this a reliable way to verify legitimacy. Additionally, be cautious of new websites that appear to link to legitimate pet businesses but replace contact details like phone numbers. These sites are often poorly executed—such as offering dogs or parrots while pointing to a cat breeder’s location. A mismatch like this is a major red flag. Please stay vigilant and protect yourself by verifying every transaction.
